Yes, I did it At my old school and in SST last year.

Identify

What is the task?
What do I want to accomplish in creating a poster?
I want to accomplish knowing more about Gimp and Cyber Safety.
How do I want to interest others in my topic?
To make people interested I will put a catch phrase and some pictures of BEBO, MY SPACE, and FACEBOOK to show people not what to go on.
Do I want to present an informative poster that can be used as a reference?
Yes I do because I think people go on and lie about their age a lot so if I make this eye catching, I can get more peoples attention.
Do I want to present a warning poster that alerts people to danger?
I think so. The danger of lying about your age is that they could track you down and find out your lying and people could ask you your age and you might forget your fake age so you could be in a lot of danger and trouble.
What do I need in order to do this?
My laptop, gimp, skills of gimp, a camera, websites.
What materials do I have?
My Laptop, paper, camera.
What resources do I need?
Better skills on Gimp, A bit of help.
Should I do more research on cyber safety?
Yes because I don’t know what subject to do.
Who will be looking at this work?
Hopefully a lot of girls my age because it’s important.
How can I appeal to other students?
Put websites they know famously like BEBO.
Are there examples of cyber safety posters or materials that I can look at?
Yes, on SharePoint and in class.
What are the obstacles? What problems may happen?
My computer may crash or I don’t hand it in on time.
Can I draw a diagram that will help me to visualise my work? Draw some rough ideas for posters.
Yes, we did that before we started and it helped me a lot with my work.
Generate

How many ideas can I think of?
List as many ideas as possible.
1) What aspects of cyber safety interest me? 2) What would I want to see on a poster?
3) Consider the advantages and disadvantages of each idea.
4) Are there any other subjects to consider?
1) The way it helps people with their problems no matter how big or small
2) Colours and great design, and a good message.
3) The colours could clash on the poster and ruin it. The colours could look great on the poster. The message could be all wrong. The message is excellent and it encourages girls.
4) Keep your password, don’t lie about your age, and don’t give out pin numbers, be responcipal online.
What resources (books, websites, etc.) have I been provided with?
SharePoint, Encyclopaedia to Cyber Safety
What do other people think about this? Do others think I have a good idea?
My friends and family think it’s a great idea as it is what teenage girls do to be cool.
Decide

Which is the best idea?
Which are the best ideas? Prioritise the 3-5 best ideas.
Keep your password, don’t lie about your age, give out pin numbers, and Never trust online friends.
Explain your reasons for choosing these. What are the arguments for and against each idea?
Keep your password: This is really good because if you give your password out, you could get a whole lot of rude things on your account. The reason for is because if you give your password out, you could get a whole lot of rude things on your account. The reason against is people already know not to give out your password because you can get rude things on accounts and they don’t want to be told again.
Don’t lie about your age: This one is my one. I chose it because if your friends lie about their age to get on a cool website, that’s their own fault, you don’t have to follow a trend. The reason for is because if you give your password out, you could get a whole lot of rude things on your account. The reason against is because a lot of people do it and their parents check it often so they don’t want to worry about it.
Don’t give out pin numbers: If you give pin numbers out, something bad will happen. The reason for it is if you give it out, you could get massive bills which you can’t pay off. The reason against is someone like your sister might need to get something that you promised to get them so you give them your pin number to get that thing.
Never trust online friends: You may trust someone online but they might be faking. The reason for it is if you flirt with this online friend and you arrange to meet at a park, you could turn up and find a 30 year old guy waiting for you. The reason against it is that it might be one of your friends that you’re talking to.
Which idea is the best one for completing the task? Which idea is best for accomplishing my goal?
I’ve decided to do don’t lie about your age as my accomplishment is to attract girls to the danger of BEBO, MYSPACE and FACEBOOK.
What is my plan? What are the steps to follow?
My plan is to make my poster better every day with new Ideas.
How will I keep track of my progress? What are my milestones?
Look on the things I need to do every day to know what I haven’t done.
